Abstract

Innovation in a changing competitive environment is an important sign that economies can gain competitive advantage. If an economy cares about innovation, it means that it holds the strongest power in other economies. The relationship between competition and innovation will be examined based on this interaction, similar to Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) and Global Innovation Index (GII). In this context, global innovation index ranked 29th in the first 30 countries in 2009; Global Competitiveness Index parameters have been tried to be determined by global innovation index and how they interact with regression analysis. The data for the years 2009 and 2017 were used in the study. As a result of the research, high positive effect was detected between the high education and training, innovativeness and labor market activity parameters and GII. The lowest effect was found to be the macroeconomic environmental parameter. In the model on GCI factor groups, a statistically significant relationship was determined between the innovation and specialization factor group and the GII.
