Abstract
This study was conducted to investigate the effects of different reclamation methods on soil biological properties. For this purpose, removal, burning and mowing methods have been applied to pastures in Gokceada, Çanakkale on October 2010. Control plots was conducted on the pasture where there was no additional treatment. 16 soil samples from each plot were taken and totally 64 different sampling were collected on October 2010 and also 2013. Microbial population numbers, urease and catalase enzyme activities were determined, in addition to that, some defining soil properties were determined of these soil samples. According to the statistical analysis results, effects of reclamation practices on soil organic C, C/N ratio, microorganism numbers were found to be statistically significant in terms of both year and treatment at p<0.01, 0.05 and 0.01; respectively. Effects of reclamation practices on soil urease and catalase enzyme activities were statistically significant at p<0.01, in terms of interactions between year and treatment. On the other hand, effects of treatments, year and interactions of year and treatment on soil N was not statistically significant.
