Abstract

The usefulness of fibre reinforced concrete (FRC) in various civil engineering applications is indisputable. Fibre reinforced concrete has so far been successfully used in construction of structures like slabs, bridges, industrial structures, footings, hydraulic structures and many other applications. This paper presents a brief state of report on experimental study on mechanical properties such as compressive, tensile and flexural strength of polypropylene fibre reinforced concrete with the replacement of cement with silica fume, Rice husk and fly ash. In this program concrete of grade M30 is used and the effect of different proportion of polypropylene fibres with mineral admixtures is studied. The concrete specimens were tested at the different age level for mechanical properties of concrete and other test were conducted for cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate and mineral admixtures to study about their properties
