Abstract
The taguchi technique used in this study to optimize stir casting process parameter aluminium metal matrix composite were manufactured by stir casting technique using four different type of process parameter they named as Sic content wt% ,Pouring temperature, Stirrer speed and Stirring timing while taking other casting parameter as constant for resulted Hardness, Tensile Strength and impact energy test were done. Taguchi experimental design Method determined the parameter setting whereas the importance level of the parameter on Hardness, Tensile strength, Impact energy was resolute by means of analysis of variance (ANOVA),analysis of signal to noise (S/N) ratio used to obtain optimum parameter set. Analysis of result show that optimum values are for Hardness, Tensile and Impact energy found at 12.5 Sic content wt%, pouring temperature 720°c, stirrer speed 500 rpm and stirring time 25 minutes, next one for tensile 12.5 Sic content wt%, pouting temp.700C, stirrer speed 500 rpm and stirring time 25 minutes, another hand for impact energy Sic content 12.5 Sic wt%, pouring temp. 740C, stirrer speed 400 rpm and stirring time 15 minutes are the optimum set of values for hardness, tensile and impact energy correspondingly.
