Abstract
ABSTRACT A contemporary design of wideband w-shaped patch antenna with defected ground structure for X band and KU band applications is presented. The presented antenna consists of w shaped patch with air gap of 1 mm. The presented antenna is designed with FR4 substrate having dielectric constant ( ) 4.4 and thickness 3 mm .The presented antenna resonates in XBand (9.05 to 12 GHz) and KU-Band (12 to 14GHz) applications at resonant frequencies of 9.46 GHz and 11.92 GHz respectively. The proposed antenna is simulated using FEM based software.
