Abstract
Simple and practical method for isolation of marmelosin (also called as Imperatorin) from Aegle marmelos fruits has been developed. The powdered fruits were extracted with methanol and partitioned with petroleum ether and on further purification marmelosin was obtained. Identity of the compound was established by spectral analysis (IR, NMR and MS). Purity of compound was determined by HPLC.
