Abstract

The article presents theoretical and experimental studies of the overflow wall height св and head H influence on the flow contraction resistance force within sharp-crested weir resulting from transition (deformation) of the uniform flow to the stream. It`s proved the accuracy of the hypothesis about proportionality of this force to head losses within sharp-crested weir and the adequacy of the obtained dependence for the its evaluation was confirmed. Graphs set out in the article disclose the influence of the main operating factors on the flow contraction resistance force.
