Abstract

The article is dedicated to the study of effectiveness of the glucose reducing drugs in the treatment of the diabetes. The diabetes is the complex disease with the pathological-genetic modifications in the human body. The selection of the drugs for the treatment determines the final results of the therapy – the diabetes compensation and normalization of the glucose level in the blood. In the paper the glucose reducing drugs are classified in dependence on the mechanism of their effect on the patient's body who suffers from the diabetes I or II type. Insulin is the basic drug in the treatment of the diabetes II type. The effective glucose reducing drugs used in the treatment of the diabetes II type and in the complex with insulin therapy are as follows: sulfonylureas, biguanides, thiazolidinediones, alpha-glucosidase inhibitors, prandial glucose regulators, dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors.
