Abstract
There is shown the information on the negative impact of the calcium and magnesium presence in the water which is used for production purposes. It's offered to use liming method on expanded polysterene filters with increasing layer of suspended sediment for water softening. It's described the process of forming calcium carbonate and magnesium hydroxide sediment, and also features of its excess removing. Experimentally proved the effectiveness of this method in laboratory conditions. For example, it's presented research data with filtering rate 3.5 m/h.
