Abstract
The article deals with the creation, development and emergence of a separate type of electronic money crypto-currency. The process of creation, and the economic essence of cryptology were explained. The list of electronic currencies with the largest capitalization in 2017 was revealed. The possibilities of introduction and functioning of crypto-currency in Ukraine were analyzed. Their cost and prospects for further development were summarized.
