Abstract

The article investigates sustainable development of the agrarian economy is impossible without the development of a small agricultural commodity producer. Today the agrarian sector is a pretty profitable sphere of the national economy. Quite a lot of domestic scientists emphasize that fact that the current stage of the development of the agricultural sector of the national economy is not final, and the goal of reforming the agrarian sector of the national economy has not been achieved yet: the middle class of the rural population has not been formed, which would ensure the sustainable development of both rural areas and agrarian economy in general. Today, in the overwhelming majority of rural areas, it was such a complicated social and economic situation, characterized by rising of unemployment, migration of the able-bodied population, and the destruction of the territorial infrastructure. To overcome this situation, quite a lot of domestic scientists pay attention to the social mobilization of the rural population in the sphere of small business development. It should be mentioned that households play an important role in providing the population of the Sumy region with livestock products and have a significant impact on the formation of food security. The distribution of production volumes according to the sectoral principle has such corresponding indicators: crop production accounts for 79.7% of the total production volume, livestock production - 20.3%. Of the total production of crop production, agricultural enterprises produce 75%, the households of the population - 25%. Indicators of livestock production are distributed this way: agricultural enterprises generate 37%, and households - 63%. Also, households almost completely provide production of such products as potatoes, vegetables, fruits and berries. The development of small forms of management for the agrarian economy of the Sumy region is of prime importance. Small forms of management carry out the production of the overwhelming majority of agricultural products, while ensuring the food security of the region. Also, small forms of management provide an opportunity to develop for rural areas, carrying out financial allocations to local budgets, while large enterprises, whose production and processing capacities and regions are represented, have minimal influence on the development of the rural economy and rural areas.
