Abstract
The article deals with approaches to the concept of organic products definition. The classification of organic products division according to the ecological purity level is analyzed. The author's interpretation of the concept of "organic products" is proposed. The main features of organic products market development in Ukraine and its main advantages and restraining factors are outlined, possible strategies of organic products market development in Ukraine are proposed. Organic products are defined as products made of environmentally friendly and safe raw materials without the use of preservatives, genetically modified organisms and chemical fertilizers, which have a harmful effect on the environment and individuals, and the taste and quality characteristics improvement of the organic product is achieved through the use of safe natural products. It is revealed that the Ukrainian market of organic products is characterized by a number of problems, including rather complicated certification process, lack of state support, low level of consumer awareness and outdated methods for assessing the quality of organic products.
