Abstract
This article covers the role of the modern communication online-mechanisms such as social media, social networks and blogs for the development of journalism and its language in Russia. Specific attention is paid to the comparison of these new channels to such historical phenomena as salon and samizdat. A particular example for the new publications' forms in the internet is reported on a so-called longread – a longer article with larger amount of multimedia content.
