Abstract
Based on the documents from the fond of Kyiv provincial gendarme administration deposited in the Central State Historical Archive of Ukraine in Kyiv, the publishing activity of M. Hrushevsky in Kyiv in 1907-1914 is covered. A historiographical review on the topic is given. The contents and composition of the documents of Kyiv temporary committee on publishing affairs and Kyiv provincial gendarme administration, which concern the personality of M. Hrushevsky as a head of the Ukrainian movement on the territory of Ukraine under the Russian governance and as a publisher of Ukrainian journals, are analyzed. Details are given on the group of documents, which concern the arrest of M. Hrushevsky in 1914 “for espionage in favor of Austria-Hungary”, of those the most informative are interrogation protocols; a list of editions and documents confiscated from M. Hrushevsky; data on M. Hrushevsky’s publishing activity in Kyiv; findings of the expertise of M. Hrushevsky’s diary notes for 1910-1914.
