ANALYSIS OF ICT DEVELOPMENT IN ASEAN COUNTRIES

In adopting ‘The connect 2020 agenda', ASEAN countries need to collaborate themselves to share the vision of the interconnected world with the international Telecommunication Union (ITU) to harmonize global ICT development. Information and Communications Technology (ICT) plays a very important role in national economic and social development for all countries. Therefore, it is very crucial issue to monitor the ICT development in the countries. The objective of this paper is to analyze the levels of ICT development in ASEAN countries. The study focuses on the ICT Development Index (IDI) compiled by the ITU's measuring the information and society report 2015. This research also describes the IDI conceptual framework and gives recommendations to ASEAN countries to achieve main goal of the ICT development.
