Abstract
As per the demand of growing population, the industries are providing the products but inturn producing huge amount of waste into water which can cause health hazards to aquatic life as well as to the human beings. Hence there is a need to remove this waste from water bodies. Acids are one such waste released by the industries ,these are water soluble in nature and cause adverse effects on the environment .As acids are water soluble, they can be easily removed by bioadsorption. For estimating the concentration of acid, the simple acid base titration using phenolphthalein indicator is carried out. The present investigation is aimed at the identification of Juhi leaves as an effective biosorbent for the removal of acids like acetic acid, oxalic acid and phosphoric acid from water. Freundlich and Langmuir isotherms are verified by experimental data, the adsorption studies were carried out at 250C.
