Abstract
Carbon nanotube reinforced composites are gaining new dimension in the field of automotive and aerospace industry. There is need of materials which have high stiffness to weight ratio and high stiffness to strength ratio for the structural parts of automotive and aerospace components. Hence most of the research work has been carried out to replace some of the structural steel and aluminum alloy usage in the industry with carbon Nano tube (CNT) reinforced with polymer matrix, which may find its use in the panels of automotive sector (sheets) and as slender member structure (struts, frames) and specially for aerospace application panels, struts and stringers in fuselage and main wing. This paper mainly focuses on the development and FE modeling of CNT reinforced composites. Here the FE model was analyzed for static loading conditions under tensile load and compressive load, and stress, strain, deformation, young's modulus were obtained.
