Abstract
In the present investigation the aggregate gradation adopted is Dense Graded Bituminous Macadam mix Grading-1. Basic engineering tests on aggregates and bituminous binders are conducted in the laboratory to assess their properties and to check their suitability to be used as road construction materials. Marshall Method of Bituminous Mix design is adopted to carry out mix design using Neat bitumen for 100 mm specimen and Modified Marshall Method of Bituminous Mix design is adopted to carry out mix design using Neat bitumen for 150 mm specimen. Indirect tensile strength tests are conducted by varying temperatures from 150C, 250C and 350C. This study compares the mix properties such as Marshall Stability, flow and indirect tensile strength obtained on 100 mm and 150 mm diameter specimens.
