REVIEW ON E-RESOURCES IN CIVIL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENTAL LIBRARIES

The use of electronic resources is increasing in academic civil engineering departmental libraries. Reviews indicate that awareness programmes are necessary to educate the users in civil engineering departmental libraries. Different levels of programmes are conducted to get benefit out of e-resources. The barriers of e-resources and solutions to overcome them are studied. The responsibility of library professionals in attending the issues related to eresources and their importance is stated. Variety of e-resources and their use is discussed in academic libraries. The importance of information literacy in libraries is realized in the context of e-resources and its importance in higher education is studied.
