Abstract
Chloride-induced corrosion of steel in concrete structures exposed to marine environment has been identified as one of the main causes of durability deterioration and decreased service lives. The initiation period is a key element in predicting the service life of reinforced concrete structures. This paper proposes a mathematical model to predict the initial phrase of steel corrosion in reinforced concrete structures in the marine environment.
