Abstract

Water is the basic necessity of mankind and there is scarcity of water all over the world. The reason for water scarcity is mainly due to mishandling of water in our day to day life. Scholars say that 20liters of water is sufficient for an individual for a healthy and clean life, on the contrary we have people using almost 570liters per day which ultimately robs the basic necessity of few people in Urban areas. Hence management of Water is essential and thus Design and development of Cheap and accurate methods for water level measurement is the need of the hour. The principle of this level measurement method is based on capacitance variation depending upon the level of the liquid in tank. The sensor is designed in such a way that it is able to indicate the lowest level and highest level in the tank. It consists of two parallel plates surrounding the tube which are responsible for capacitance variation as the level of the liquid inside the tube is varied. This capacitance output is converted in the form of frequency variation and is fed to the microcontroller which is programmed from determining the level of the tank. The wireless module ESP8266, has been used to create a wireless network. This network can be accessed from any system and level of the tank can be monitored through web services.
