Abstract
In modern days utilization of polyethylene terephthalate plastic bottles are inevitable and unavoidable. Disposal of polyethylene terephthalate plastic challenging one in recent time, improper disposals leads to hazardous impact on the environment. In this study an attempt is made to utilize these PET in concrete in the form of fiber and performance under severe environment was investigated. Three different aspect ratio (0.15, 0.3, 0.45) in three different volume fraction (0.5%, 1.0% and 1.5%) was used in the concrete. Acid attack and chloride attack results were compared with the concrete 28 days compressive strength of concrete. Mix with 1.0% volume fraction and 0.3 aspect ratio exhibit better performance among all the mixes.
