Abstract
ABSTRACT:- This study explores the strategic role of the competency of the frontline executives from Junior officers to Manager cadre of UTILITIES Department of RINL,VSP- a first shore based Public Sector integrated steel plant in India. The assessment evaluates the various aspects of employee's talent which has broadly divided into Technical competencies and Behavioral competencies. This competency development encourages the front line officers to improve competencies which can be used in diverse work situations rather than boxing up with the routine job. Development of the employees focuses on enhancing employee skills which help them to cope up with the needs and performance of the organization inching towards excellence. Cronbach's Alpha reliability test, descriptive stats, one way ANOVA and Regression tests are the statistical tools used in the research. The study has showed that customers are well satisfied with assured quality through competent people marching towards “VIZAG STEEL as PRIDE of STEEL”.
