Abstract
Current research is focused on performance-based assessment for the educators who need to create and use the digital storytelling for their teaching and learning environment. In assessing evidence or facts, the most complicated challenge for students is often to judge the reliability of sources in the story. The study shows positive influence on building critical-thinking skills and creativity for students' development while they are using the digital storytelling method. Student assessment is the essential part not only for teachers and students, but also for educators. Nowadays classroom requires more involvement and engagement from students' side in every step of their development, including the assessing process of their performances. Performance-based assessment and more precisely, rubrics, give the education developers, teachers more authority to evaluate students adequately. Video rubric, adequately created by the requirements and goals, gives the students motivation and it increases their performances.
