Abstract
Initially of the 1990s, the pace of economic and financial globalization accelerated with closer economic and financial relations between different countries. This situation contributed to the wider use of criteria and indicators to help countries and investors make appropriate decisions to invest at the international level. These indicators allow us to look closely at several important things. In this paper, we address theoretically, how to build composite indicators (or simply an index) to reach a single number that allows for the classification of the economies of individual countries regarding foreign investment attraction. This index represents a wide range of measurements on the multiple aspects of "conceptual entity" such as the cost of living, the status of social wellbeing or FDI attractiveness.
