Abstract
Cloud computing is relatively novice paradigm which makes use of various computing models such as distributed, grid and cluster on pay as you go basis. Due to wide range of applicability and extensive requirements from Cloud consumers, tasks submitted to Cloud may belong to various categories such as urgent tasks (for instance, priority jobs) and dependent tasks (for instance, one job relies on other to complete for its execution commencement). While considering such dynamic requirements from users, it is important to optimize the Cloud utilization in such a way that energy consumption remains minimal, as CO2 emission has been identified as one of the key concerns in ICT equipment usages such as Cloud data centers. Hence, it is required to discuss the techniques of scheduling of varieties of task and its impact on energy model used for calculating energy consumption of data center. In this paper, we discuss the task scheduling technique to reduce energy consumption with the consideration of dependent and urgent task. Moreover, the paper focused on other required consideration for energy calculation.
