Abstract
he res ults of recent minera l e xplo ration in the Yuele lead -zinc min ing area of Daguan County, northeas tern Yunnan province, s howed that there are many a reas with anticline outcrops of early Pa leo zoic s trata under thick late Paleo zoic s trata in northeas tern Yunnan province, where developed s ome hiddens alt s tructures (SSs ), often led to lead-zinc polymetallic minera lizat ion with varying degre es along the tens ion tors ional fault (belts ) or fracture (jo int). Thes e ore-bodies belong to the epigenetic hydrotherma l filling ve in -type depos it, often formed the indus trial ore bodies , and the prospecting potential is great. In many pla ces , the s uperficia l minera lization informat ion dis played clear, but the deep mineralization informat ion is unknown, s o the concealed ore -bodies pros pecting is little. It is an advantage method for the audio-megnetotelluric (AMT) s urveying to characterize the s ize , res is tivity and s kin depth of the polarizable minera l depos it concealed beneath thick overburden. To obtain more re liable res ults , we have meas ured electrica l res is tivity and polarization of the geologica l s amp les and the drilling s amples for the s ubs equent data analys is ing. Bas ed on the controlled known ore-bodies meas urement tes ting, further s tudies will atte mpt to determine if induced polarization parameters e xt racted fro m the AMT s urveying data can als o be us ed to determine the s ize and res is t ivity of the minera lized area. Th is paper pres ents the s urveying res ults us ing AMT method to evaluate the concealed lead -zinc mineralization in Yue le lead-zinc ore fie ld, Daguan county, northeas tern Yunnan province, China. After co mparing the interpretatio n res ult of AMT s urveying data with the geological data and the drilling data, it is found that there is s ome dis tinct diffe rence in res is tivity and polarizab le between o re-bodies hos ted s tratum, upper s tratum and gyps um s tratum. The res ult s hows that AMT method is helpful to identify lead -zinc mineralization under this geological condition
