Abstract
Quality of work life (QWL) is viewed as an alternative to the control approach of managing people. The QWL approach cons iders people as an 'ass et' to the organization rather than as cos ts . It believes that people perform better when they are allowed to participate in managing their work and ma ke decis ions . This approach motivates people by s atis fying not only their economic needs but also their s ocial and ps ychological ones . To s atis fy the new generation workforce, organizations need to concentrate on job d es igns and organization of work. Further, today's workforce is realizing the importance of re lations hips and is trying to s trike a ba lance between career and pers onal lives . This s tudy was conducted on 100 faculty me mbers of graduation colleges in Rajkot with a validated ques tionnaire. The s tudy identifies the different QUA LIT Y OF WORK LIFE of the res pondents . The study proved to be an eye-opener as well as a mind -opener for us . On the bas is of respons es , researchers have done analys is . And as a part of analys is res earchers have prepared the charts as well as applied Z tes t to compare the means of gender and marital s tatus which helps to find out impact of various factor affect ing quality of work life.
