Abstract
The inability of renewable energy systems for supplying high quality electric power to AC loads in standalone mode and for injecting sinusoidal current into the grid at high power factor in grid-connected mode necessitates a high-performance inverter. Different inverter topologies and several control techniques for the enhanced operation of micro-grid are reviewed. Therefore, in order to overcome the above-mentioned topologies, a new voltage source inverter topology called S3 inverter is presented. A single-phase voltage source inverter with frontend DC-DC conversion stage followed by a synchronized pushpull configuration operating at desired fundamental frequency is presented.
