Cost and Productivity of Skidding and Canal Establishmentat Peat Swamp Forest Plantation in Riau and ambi

Productivity and cost ofskidding and canal establishment are important activity on timber harvesting in peat swamp forest plantation. It could determine timber harvesting efficiency. A stucjy isas carried out inJune 2011 at concession area of Arara Abadi Company, Riau and Ju!J 2011 at Wirakarya Sakti Company, ]ambi. This stucjy aimed tofind out productivity and cost of skidding and canal establishment at peat s1vamp forest plantation. Field data i.e. productivity and cost of skidding and canal establishment uere collectedand processed l!J tabulation. Stucjy result revealedthat 1.The average of skiddingproductivityfor plot I, II, and III each are 12, 42; 13, 7 7; 15,3 2, m1/hour (Jam bi) and 11, 46; 13, 04; 15, 13 vi/ hour(Riau), 2. The average of skidding costfar Plots I, II, and III each are Rp 28.306/ m1, Rp 25.483/ d, Rp 22.843/m1 (!ambi) and Rp 30.592/v/, Rp 26.834/m1, Rp 23.158/m1 (Riau), and 3. The average of canal establishment costfar Plots I, II, and III each are Rp 13.623 / m, Rp 13.189 / m, Rp 13.048 / m (Jam bi) and Rp9.670/m, Rp9.630/ m, Rp9.431 /m (Riau).
