A shltfy was carriedout at concessionarea ef KalimantanSubur Permai Compafay, WestKalimantan. The area was a naturalpeat swampforestsetasidefor the land-clearingin preparationfor the establishmentof industriapl lantation forest,in whichconsistedcf mixedhardwoodtrees.Thisstutfyexaminedpossibiliay of increasing productilaJd, ecreasing loggingcost, subsidence, and waterfluctuationusing R1L technique. Results revealed that the use ef R1L injeJJing, skidding,loading,un-loading, and hauling at peat swamp forest could: 1. Increaseproductiviay for each activiay of consecutive& 0,946 m'[bour; 2,449 m'/hour,1,96 m' bour 1,871 m'/hour, and 2, 158 m'hour; 2.Decreased production cost of Rp 992,1 /m', Rp 3.088,6/ m', Rp 127,9/ m', Rp 99,7/ m', and Rp 158,6/ m'consecutiveay; 3.Inceased timbere.fficienryutilization (JUE) about 6% equal to Rp 74,400,000 year, 4. Subsidence proceededat 0.3 75 cm/year rate, which corresponded to 1.875 cm infiveyears. Thisfigure was stiJJ lower than that stipulated in the Indonesia's Government Decree (PP)No. 150-2000. 4. The averagesef waterlevelat logging siteand canal were 61.75 cm and 52.25 cm, respectiveay.
