Abstract
The article presents data on the development of medical education in the Grodno region from the Middle Ages to the present day. Specific features of medical training of various categories of medical workers are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the creation of the Grodno Medical Academy at the end of the 18th century – the first-class institution of higher medical education and medical science in the territory of modern Belarus.
