INNOVATIVE GREEN APPROACH INFORMATICS TO MANAGING THERMAL SOURCES AND ITS EFFECT IN RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS IN TROPICAL CLIMATE

Abstract
The ever increasing Earth temperature has increased the Green House Effect and has evolved a phenomenon known as urban heat Island effect. Contributing to this effect is the indoor thermal sources and its attendant effect on the environment and occupants, this heat affects the occupants and the surrounding ecosystem. Population frame of 100 residential building works was chosen out of which Eighty (80) samples of residential building occupants were used for the study through administering structured questionnaire designed in Likert Scale 1-5. Structured questionnaire was used to collect information from the building occupants on indoor thermal sources and effects. Regression analysis and Mean Item Score were used to process the data. Results were presented in Tables and charts. Some of the innovative approach are presented in the study. The measure can be implemented as an innovative approach to heat management in building.
