Abstract
With increase in road traffic the number of waste tyres are hence increasing with immense pace and their disposal is major environmental problem and matter of concern as they are non-biodegradable and their burning leads to air pollution also there is huge amount of quarry dust produced from quarries which is also a waste material. The intension of this paper is to study the feasibility of waste rubber and quarry dust as a stabilizing material for the expansive soil in road subgrade. The crumb rubber and quarry dust can be used in stabilization of expansive soils in subgrade, which will reduce the environmental pollution and also increase the bearing capacity or stability of expansive soils and there is also increase in the permeability. Hence there is increase in the life and performance of roads. Besides this we need not to borrow soils from far place hence reducing the transportation cost as well.
