Abstract
The present study is aimed at investigating the electrochemical characteristics of aluminum alloy due to the deposition of SiO2 nanoparticles by electrophoretic deposition (EPD) inside a porous anodic aluminum oxide film (AAO) followed by sealing using cerium conversion coating technique. Treated aluminum exhibits improved surface morphology and higher corrosion resistance when subjected to 3.5% NaCl as evidenced by lower corrosion current density and higher polarization resistance.
