RARE PRESENTATION OF PRIMARY AMENORRHEA-CASE REPORT

Abstract
15 year old girl admitted with complaints of abdominal pain for 3years and with history or not attained menarche. No history is significant or relevant to her complaints. On examination she is built and developed to her age with adequate secondary sexual characters. Vital signs, CVS, RS, CNS, higher functions and external genitalia normal.Basic blood and urine investigation normal . Ultra sound, CT and MRI showed hypoplastic uterus , hydrometra, atretic vagina and normal ovaries. Hormonal assays and IVP normal. Examination under anaesthesia identified blind vagina of 2cms. Per rectal examination revealed uterus high up, vagina upper and lower end blind. Diagnostic laparoscopy revealed globular uterus, absent cervix, tubes and ovaries normal. Planed for vaginoplasty and laparotomy and proceed. As it was difficult to reconstruct cervix and also the cavity is blind from middle 13rd, Hysterectomy done even in the presence of functioning uterus. Ovaries retained for harbouring oocyte for invitrio fertilization. Bilateral groin flap raised and vaginoplasty done for normal sexual life. Advised daily dilatation with lubricated dilators. Post op uneventful. On review no specific complaints
