Abstract

This article proposes efficient solution of mathematical programming problem: the knapsack problem aiming at determination of optimum in terms of cumulative practicality plan of loading of limited capacity vehicle with items used for disaster mitigation. The novelty of the work is that, contrary to classic formulation of the problem, it is assumed that practicality of a single item is defined fuzzily. Formulation of the problem and its subsequent solution are based on the fuzzy set theory and fuzzy logics as well as the theory of dynamic programming. Sufficiently simple algorithm of approximate solution of the considered problem is proposed which can be used for development of software. The proposed algorithm is illustrated by conceptual example. It is proposed to apply the described theoretical concepts for material support of EMERCOM units involved in disaster mitigations in the framework of existing information system
