Abstract

Earth is the natural storage reservoir for groundwater which works like a conduit to transport water for large distances and also acts as a natural filter media to increase the quality of water by removing suspended solids and microbial contamination. Groundwater is not only confined to only at particular depth as it depends on the existed geographical conditions and it is replenished or recharged by precipitation through rain and snow but now a day's in majority of areas of the world, people are facing serious water shortage problems as the rate of water consumption crosses the rate of natural replenishment. Due to rapid industrialization and increased number of vehicles the concentration of heat that is releasing in to the atmosphere keep on increases at an alarm rate which disturbs hydrological cycle and reduces the rate of annual rainfall. Apart from these reasons effluents from the industries, inadequate drainage systems influence the availability water resources both in its quantity and quality. Remote Sensing and Geographical Information System techniques emerged in to different fields of science over the last three decades. Now a day's geo spatial technology acts as essential tool for groundwater studies
