Abstract

Numerous efforts have been done by Muslim scholars who explore into the origins of Islamic philosophy. This happened due to many issues that have been tremendously debated in line with the advancement and development of certain countries besides massive growth of the said thought. Among the issue faced by a Muslim is the interaction of traditional Islamic and foreign thought. It has to be handled as a significant task that requires appropriate approach as a symbolic to the beauty of Islam. Islamic science refers to the science that has been existed in Islamic civilization and further developed by modern westerners based on the ideology that denies the existence of God, Holy Spirit, Revelation and the Hereafter. This article is specially focus on ideology of two Malay women scholars discussing about Islamic science. Those scholars were Prof Dr Khalijah Salleh and Prof Datuk Dr Azizan Baharuddin. This article also aims to see the way they think to figure out the similarity and difference that directly differentiate their thoughts in the field of Islamic Science itself. However, their ideologies still be influenced by the ideologies of other Muslim scholars globally. The emergence of thoughts and exposure towards thinking aspects that depicted by the scholars are coincided to expand and sharpen the subject of Islamic science and showed wide-ranging network in their essence of thoughts to be translated for development of Islamic science particularly in Malaysia.
