The cluster approach to selecting the prospective markets for the fuel and energy companies of the Russian Federation

The article offers the solution of the scientific problem of choosing the most promising markets for the fuel and energy companies by taking into account the geographical fragmentation of economic activities (geological exploration, production, ex-ports). The possibility of classifying the markets of developed countries by specific characteristics based on the cluster approach has been investigated. The emerging markets have been classified as well as the policy solutions aimed at improving the fuel and energy companies’ foreign strategies have been proposed.
