Abstract
The biochemical composition such as protein, carbohydrate, lipid, ash and moisture content in the muscle of Lutjanus johnii and Lutjanus russelli has been carried out during January to December 2017 to know the seasonal changes. They are excellent sources of high quality proteins and biochemical composition. The percentage composition of moisture, protein, carbohydrate, lipid and ash contents showed variations in their abundance in different seasons in both the species. The highest content of moisture was 79.13?1.9712%, protein 19.95?0.6894% in post-monsoon and carbohydrate was 2.31?0.1935% in pre-monsoon recorded in L. johnii and highest content of lipid was 4.29?0.2452%, and ash was 3.38?0.3503% in L. russelli in pre-monsoon.
