Learners' Factors Influencing Task Difficulty in Rasht

Abstract
This current paper presented learners factors influencing task difficulty. At first the researcher defined task and task difficulty. Then, different factors influencing task difficulty were explained. After that, learners' factor as a main factor affecting it were selected. Why students have different difficulty and the reasons of this were the problem statements. Some personal factors of learners (self-confidence, motivation, ability to do a task) were selected to prove this issue. In questionnaire, questions were about these three factors. The sample was two groups of students in guidance school (Guidance school is a school that children go there after elementary school. In fact it is the three first grades of High school in other countries). The researcher gave students different tasks to complete. After doing tasks, the questionnaire was given to them to fill. Next step was oral interview about factors that were not in the questionnaire. Then the learners’ answers were collected. The results showed that most of the learners find tasks difficult at the result of low ability and lack of knowledge. Some of them find tasks difficult because of lack of time and self-confidence.
