Abstract
Recent advances in optical fiber communications not only increase the capacities of communication system but also progress the system productive and sustainability. Numerous advanced technologies are designed to increase the bandwidth of individual wavelength channels and the computation of wave-lengths transmitted per fiber. Numerous access technologies in Optical fiber have developed to sustenance various emerging applications, such as RT (real rime), OD(on demand) and high data rate applications, in a flexible, easily affordable and energy efficient manner.
In this article, we surveyed/reviewed contemporary research in optical communications and prime focus is on the topic of modulation and demodulation techniques implemented in optical fiber communication, essentially used techniques are i. M-PSK(M-ary phase shift keying) & M-QAM and OFDM (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing). Other advancements are Polymer OFC, Smart Optical Transmission Network, Laser Technology, Improvements in Glass Fiber Design and Component Miniaturization.
