Abstract
The present research paper focus for the characterization of rheological, thermal and morphological properties of surface treated fly ash filled USP composites prepared by Hand Layup Technique. The composite used for the study is prepared from UP EspolTM grade Unsaturated Polyester (USP) Resin as a Matrix reinforced with surface treated fly ash. The methods adopted for the surface treatment of fly Ash by using Sodium Lauryl Sulphate with varying weight percent from 0-25 wt% of fly ash and optimized the filler (Fly Ash) percent. Surface modification is done with Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) for enhancing the interaction between Unsaturated Polyester (USP) Resin and Fly Ash and comparison is made with untreated fly ash-USP composites.
