Abstract
With Heidegger film phenomenology becomes able to elucidate understanding in so far as it is noematic. In the art of film it is during montage that the single frame of meaning is created. Film editing has different interpretations in theories of cinema, but filmmakers make use of it so that it lets the language offi lm become that of art. It is not a language with abstract rules regulating understanding, on the conrary, it is showing itself that happens “between” the canvas of the screen and the spectator in which is created this work of art. The work of art builds itself as a reference whole of connotative indexes, while the film tries to get away it explicitly before the spectator's eyes. Auteur cinema in its turn has an artificial language which is built so as to determine or modify the understanding of a film. Such a film has a noematic language generating senses where particular features of the language of art are articulated on behalf of the genuine purpose of the film.
