The construction of citizenship in public spaces Notes on the 15-M and the pamplonesa everyday

This paper analyzes the role of citizens in the construction of public spaces, from the particular case of the Plaza del Castillo, Pamplona. To do this, the article structure is constituted by three main blocks: a historical background section of the Plaza del Castillo, where the main events that happened public spatial conformation are described; a reflective paragraph regarding the functionality of the 15-M the year 2011, by the account of citizens regarding the Plaza del Castillo as a space in which converge political actions and daily; and a section of final thoughts regarding the transformation of public space from the organization of social protest. In short, the work provides a sociological approach to the study of social space and urban demands that emerge within citizenship.
