Abstract
Since the arrival of the Internet, and with it, the digitalization of various contents, the production practices and scientific consumption –among others- found the need to head toward the digital. In the past, the scientific production reached a closed circle of readers, who accessed to it through the direct consult of scientific journals and books. But things have changed and, since some years ago, those in charge of publishing journals face a new challenge: converge their formats and migrate from paper to electronic. In this paper we explain which processes of the scientific journal production are modified facing this changing context, which remain, and the challenges faced by the producers of journals for science dissemination.
We present the particular case of the journal Comunicación y Sociedad, from Universidad de Guadalajara.
