Abstract

This article explores the conceptual foundations of the discipline to present the characterization of the architecture of Digital Information used in newspaper web portals Colombia.Applied research was based on 2015 with theoretical contributions of Al-Hawamdeh (2002), Middleton (1999), Prax (2000), Scolari (2010), among others, to define the key concepts with which it is characterized near 15 news websites. The method considered two phases of fieldwork. The first, of explanation and verification from three components Information Architecture recognizes fundamental for organizing digital document information (subject cataloging, classification of information and types of interface) and the second selection of newspaper websites.Regarding content validation assessment criteria which the maximum level domain registrations identified three basic concepts used classified: (A) concepts: basic concepts classified reasonable, accurate and functional character to the proposed actions; (B) application: identifying patterns outlined step by step so that they can be followed without further explanation; (C) observation accurately distinguishes differences, features and facts discovered in the data.It was noted that most local newspaper websites categorized in thematic generic menu bar by folksonomies (tags simple classification); home page classified in common units of content such as news, without accurate information criteria and using two digital formats (text and images); and grouped the set of homogeneous thematic news section labeled those pages.
