MARITAL STATUS AND RISK OF CADIOVASCULAR DISEASES

Abstract
Background: the analysis of behavioral risk factors for cardiovascular diseases (CVD) in different groups will enable to complete the recommendations on primary prevention. The aim of the research was to assess the combination of cardiovascular disease risk factors depending on marital status, to assess participants' awareness of the significant risk factors for cardiovascular disease. Material and methods: one hundred twenty people without documented CVD took part in a questionnaire; the body mass index, waist circumference, and blood pressure were estimated. Results: we revealed a low level of awareness of the cardiovascular diseases risk factors in participants. More than half of the respondents do not have the target's waist circumference; married men have overweight 3 times more than women; married women use "fatty" food 3 times less, and vegetables (fruits) – 3 times more often than single men. Smoking, alcohol consumption is less common among married women than men regardless of their marital status. Conclusion: we don't found influence of marriage on the "dietary models", physical activity and blood pressure level of respondents Married women have a less of risk factors in comparison with men.
