LANGUAGE REPRESENTATION OF VALUES OF AMERICAN AND UKRAINIAN LINGUOCULTURE

The article is devoted to the study of the values of representatives of American and Ukrainian linguocultural spaces. The authors consider culture and its influence on the formation of personal worldview of the speaker, approaches to the interpretation of the concept of “culture”, as well as its features and value categories. Interaction and mutual influence of “culture” and speech, as well as the concept of linguocultures, are analyzed. The main attention of the authors is focused on the value measurement of Ukrainian and American linguocultures and their linguistic representation. On the basis of modern studies of the values of Americans and Ukrainians, the authors compared main values of the representatives of examined linguocultures. Conclusions according to the language representatives of the studied values are illustrated by examples from lexicographic sources.
